Cass Road Drain

For years, property owners along the Cass Road industrial corridor dealt with regular flooding from undersized and failing culverts in the Cass Road Drain. In partnership with the Grand Traverse County Drain Commission, GFA provided construction oversight of a 3-phase solution to the problem. Phase 1, completed by Team Elmer’s in April 2021, consisted of constructing an earthen berm to protect the existing properties from the existing wetlands. Phase’s 2 and 3, completed by Elmer’s in September 2021, consisted of replacing undersized and failing corrugated metal culverts with concrete box culverts under the existing railroad and Cass Road.
