The Great Wolf Lodge is one of Michigan’s largest family resorts. The resort features over 280 rooms, a 52,000 square foot water park, kid spa, arcade, conference center, mini golf course, and more. GFA was part of the design team that led the way in developing what was once a buffalo pasture into one of Traverse City’s premier resort attractions. The resort’s close proximity to sensitive wetlands and Kid’s Creek required a unique and thoughtful approach to storm water management. Coupled with the overall large scale and footprint of the project presented many unique engineering challenges that GFA was able to overcome. From initial concepts through to construction oversite and material testing, GFA was hands-on in the development of the resort.
